Waterstem Fired & Printed is dedicated to making jewelry and prints that mix traditional techniques and modern style to create a unique product. Each piece is handcrafted with quality materials and inspired by nature.
The Process
The Prints
All prints are individually watercolored archival pigment prints. This means each piece is drawn, converted into a digital file, printed on acid free paper and hand painted per order.
The Jewelry
Enameling is a process that is hundreds of years old and is a process that provides incredible longevity of color and surface on metal. Each piece of jewelry that is ordered is sifted with flux, (powdered glass with pigment) onto a piece of copper and fired at over 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. Because copper is conductive, glass bonds to the copper within minutes creating beautiful variation of pigments through heating and oxidation. Each piece is unique and has its own material history.
